Mrs. Hope A. (Neeb) Hontz

Mrs. Hope A. Hontz, 60, of Jamestown, Pa. passed away, Thursday, Dec. 1st at her residence. She was the wife of Ronald D. Hontz. They were married for 34 years on Sept. 25th of this year. Born in Lehighton, she was a daughter of the late Allen M. & Alma C. Adams Neeb. She was a graduate of The Lehighton Area High School, Class of 1974. Hope was the operator/manager of the former Neeb’s Café in Lehighton and worked at Empire Beauty School from 1974-1984. She formerly worked at Dunn & Bradstreet as a Kelly Girl and most recently was employed at Maximum Homecare Lehigh Valley Visiting Nurses. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lehighton, and held social memberships at Beaver Run Rod & Gun Club, & The Lehighton Orioles Nest #183. Surviving in addition to her husband is a son, Scott D. Hontz & his wife Bryanne of West Point , New York,  2 sisters, Christine Schaffer of Lehighton, Elizabeth, wife of Robert Weikel of Lansford, a grandson, Brayden David Hontz, nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Ralph “Chubby” Neeb, a sister, Ada Bauchspies, & an infant brother Myles Neeb. Funeral Services will be held on Tues. Dec. 6th at 11 a.m. at The Ovsak FH, 190 S. 4th St., Lehighton with SALM Emma Weaver officiating. Call 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home on Tuesday. Interment in Lehighton Cemetery.
