1955 - 2023
William J. “Beany” Ulshafer, 67, of Lehighton, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, February 28, 2023 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Miners Campus. Born in Jim Thorpe, he was the son of the late Edward and Grace (Albert) Ulshafer. He was employed as a welder for the former KME in Nesquehoning until his retirement. He was also a bartender at Pleasant Corners Tavern, Mahoning Twp. He was a graduate of Jim Thorpe High School Class of 1973. He was a member of the East Penn Sporting Club. Beany enjoyed playing pool, golfing and deer hunting and was an avid NASCAR and Dallas Cowboy fan.
Surviving are sons Derek Ulshafer and his wife Kristine of Lehighton, William Ulshafer Jr. of Lehighton, and Joseph Moyer of Weatherly; a daughter Jessica Moyer and her companion Keith of Weatherly; sisters Lorraine, wife of Steve Frankhouser of Lehighton and Laura, wife of Frank Dennis of Jim Thorpe; a brother Nelson Ulshafer and his companion Nadine Gorka of Coaldale; a godson Brandon Stuckley; 10 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
