Obituary
"Stephanie “Steff” Silfies, 55, of Lehighton, Pennsylvania passed away on the evening of Wednesday, March 15th, 2023 in the care of Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest. Born October 7, 1967 in Lehighton, she was the daughter of the late Ronald and Evelyn Swartz of Lehighton. She was preceded in death by her son Richard “RJ” Wentz also of Lehighton.
She worked as a sewing machine operator at Scotty’s Fashions for many years. She enjoyed playing the slots, watching Jeopardy, puzzling, and feeding the chipmunks.
Survivors: Steff was survived by husband Robert W. Silfies of Kunkletown. Daughter, Breanna Hoffner of Harrisburg. Granddaughter Isabel Wentz of Lehighton. Son, RJ Wentz’s companion Krystle Heintzelman of Lehighton. Sister, Debra Shellhammer and her husband Jeffrey Shellhammer of Franklin Township. Sister, Ronalyn Birnbaum of Lehighton. Sister, Pamela Beck and companion Terry Burton of Jonas. Sister, Lori Johnson and her husband Keith Johnson of Lehighton. And many nieces and nephews.
Services: The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. to 11a.m., on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral service at the Ovsak Funeral Home, 190 S 4th Street, Lehighton, PA 18235 with SALM Emma Weaver officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Heights Memorial Park, Lehighton.
