Richard Alan Zern, 69, of Lehighton passed away in his home in the presence of family on August 14, 2022. Born October 12, 1952 in Lehighton to Mark and Eleanor Zern (née Hill). He is survived by a sister, Louise Hayden and husband Harry Hayden; his children Zach, Kimberly, Kali, Daniel, Kirsten and Matthew; as well as eight grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of Lehighton Area High School and the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. He worked as a pharmacist in local pharmacies throughout his career before enjoying retirement with his beloved German Shepherd, Zeb. Rich was known to many as witty, wise, and always up for a beer with friends. He will be missed by family and the community of friends he built starting in his college days and extending to his more recent adventures around the Maury Road.
A small celebration of life will be held in the coming months.
