Paul R. Borits Sr.

Mr. Paul R. Borits Sr., 87, of Lehighton, Pa. passed into eternal rest on Thursday, September 16th at the Hospice House of the VNA of St. Luke’s, Bethlehem, Pa. He was the husband of Elizabeth Mary (Kuntz) Borits. They were married for 59 years this past May 5, 2021. Born in Packerton, Pa., on Thursday August 2nd, 1934, he was a son of the late Charles & Julia (Bauer) Borits. Prior to retiring, he was employed by the Bethlehem Steel Corporation as an electrician with 30 years of service. He was a member of SS Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, Lehighton and held a Life membership at Beaver Run Rod & Gun club where he helped with the initial organization. He was a devout Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed keeping company with his miniature Schnauzer canine friends, “Gracie” & “Rizzo”.  Surviving in addition to his wife are 2 daughters, Gail Borits, of Phila., Stephanie Kratz of Richlandtown, Pa., a son, Paul R. Borits Jr. of Albrightsville, Pa., nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Juliann Marie Borits, 3 brothers, Joseph, Frank,&  Charles Borits, & 5 sisters, Bertha Gimera, Stella Teichert, Marie Garrecht, Helen Weselneck, & Carol Batney. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial in his honor will be held on Thursday, Sept. 23rd at 10 a.m. in SS Peter & Paul RC Church, 260 N. 3rd St., Lehighton with the Reverend Robert George officiating. Call 9-10 a.m. Thursday in the church. Interment following the Mass in the parish cemetery. Memorial Contributions in his honor may be made to the church at 18235.
