Obituary
Sophie Rose Trently, 91, of Lehighton, passed away on Sunday, November 20 at Maple Shade Meadows Assisted Living in Nesquehoning, where she was a resident for the past four years.
She was the wife of the late Jerome Trently, Sr., of Lehighton, to whom she was married for 55 years and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Sophie (Knutelsky) Oleyar of Lansford.
Sophie worked at Western Electric in Allentown and Scotty’s Mill in Lehighton. She was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church in Lehighton.
Sophie was preceded in death by her only son, Jerome Trently, Jr. of Elizabethville. She was also preceded in death by her 11 siblings.
She is survived by her grandson, Joseph Trently of Duncannon, her daughter-in-law, Jacquelyn Deitrich and her husband, Brian, of Millersburg, Matthew Deitrich of Henryville, and several nieces and nephews.
Services: Visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 29 at Ss. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, Lehighton from 9:30 -10:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian burial following at 10:00 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
