Mrs. Sharon Kay (Knittle) Leiby

Mrs. Sharon Kay (Knittle) Leiby, 67, of East Penn Township, entered God's Kingdom on Thursday, July 4th at St. Luke's Hospital-Carbon. She was the wife of David E. Leiby. They were married for 44 years on May 17th of this year. Born in Lehighton, she was a daughter of the late John & Kathleen (Savitz) Knittle. Prior to retirement, she was employed as an assembler at Mack Trucks Inc. Sharon was a 1975 Lehighton High School graduate where she was on the Drum Majorette squad. She attended services at Dinkey Memorial Lutheran Church Ashfield. Sharon was a loving and devoted/dedicated wife, mother, & grandmother as she never let her children & grandchildren out of her sight. She extensively supported her families endeavors. Sharon enjoyed cooking and baking and enjoyed making extensive holiday meals without any help. In  her spare time she could be found watching old black and white movies and old comedy shows. Surviving in addition to her husband are 3 daughters, Sara Flynn (Brad) of Wind Gap, Julie Leiby of Durango, Colorado, Caroline Leiby of Lehighton, a sister, Lynn McFarland (Mac) of Lehighton, 2 brothers, John Knittle (Pat) of Kunkletown, Pete Knittle (Pam) of Sacramento, Cal., 3 grandchildren, Lena, Nico, Emilia, nieces & nephews.
