Mrs. Melissa Dietrich Obituary

Melissa A. “Missy” (Trinkle) Dietrich

08/25/66 - 05/08/23

Melissa, aged 56, on May 8th, of Bowmanstown, PA, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her beloved family.

Daughter of Joseph and Carol Trinkle, Melissa was born on August 25th, 1966 in Palmerton, PA. She was a graduate of the Palmerton High School class of '84. After high school, she worked as a nurse’s aide for the Mahoning Valley Nursing Home before then settling in at Lehighton Nursing Home for six more years.

Her life suddenly changed due to a diagnosis of cardiomyopathy. Melissa survived two heart transplants -- her first in 1996 and her second in 2013. Her family and friends all regarded her as a walking miracle. Through all the trials life sent her she always had a smile on her face. Her faith kept her strong. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking and spending time entertaining her family and friends.

She loved life, for each and every moment mattered to her. She was always taking pictures so she could reminisce about the good ol’ days. Her illnesses never stopped her, and she was always quick to offer encouragement or a helping hand. She continued to live life until her most recent diagnosis of renal cancer.

Missy knew she was on borrowed time but was not afraid to go home to our Lord.

Her loving heart and kind soul will be missed by many, especially her grandchildren.

Genesis 9:16 “Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth. ”

“All we have is today! Yesterday is gone and tomorrow isn't promised for anyone! We should all be so grateful for one more chance to say I love you!! And by the way, I love you more! “. - Missy

She was proceeded in death by Joseph P. Trinkle (father). Melissa was also survived by her mother, Carol Trinkle, brother David Trinkle, and her sister, Jennifer Polak; her husband, Mark A. Dietrich Sr, her daughter, Karalyn Williams wife of Brandon Williams , her son, Mark A. Dietrich Jr and his wife Jenna Dietrich; as well as her grandchildren, Grayson, Anthony, Andrew, Thomas, and Emma.
