Mrs. Mary Jane Kleinsmith, 88, of Palmerton, Pa., passed into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 31st at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem, Pa. She was the wife of the late Bonney John Kleinsmith who passed away Tues. July 6, 1999. Born in Lehighton, Pa. on Sunday, January 15, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Mary Fredericks. Prior to her retirement, she was employed in the garment industry as a seamstress at Fernbrook, Palmerton, Pa. Mary Jane was of the Catholic Faith and attended Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Palmerton. She was a member of the women’s auxiliary of the West End Fire Co., Palmerton. She enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Phillies baseball games and loved spending time with her loving family, especially her grandchildren. Surviving are 4 daughters, Bonnie Kraftician of Bethlehem, Brenda, wife of Doug Borger of Bowmanstown, Beverly, wife of LeRoy Scherer of Palmerton, Barbara, wife of Jeff Kulp of Davenport, Florida, 9 grandchildren, including Jaime Christman with whom she resided, 13 Great-grandchildren, 1 Great-great-grandson, nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Katherine Gombert & Veronica “Fro” Diehl. Prayers will be held on Saturday, Sept. 4th at 10 a.m. at The Ovsak FH, 190 S. 4th St., Lehighton with Deacon Joseph C. Wilhelm Jr. officiating. Call 9-10 a.m. Sat. The family requests that face masks should be worn during the visitation. Interment in SS Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, North 4th St. Lehighton following the prayer service.
