Marposa K. DeHaven, 91, of Lehighton, passed peacefully into eternal rest on May, 9th, 2021, surrounded by her family, at the home of her daughter with whom she resided. She was the daughter of Katherine (Friend) Zellner & Joseph Zellner. Marposa was the wife of Robt. W. DeHaven who passed away in 2005. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, the former Wesley United Methodist Church, and the United Methodist Women of Lehighton. Professionally, Marposa worked in the office of Dr. R. Roy Ronemus, Podiatrist, and as a lunch aide at the former Shull-David Elementary School., Lehighton. She enjoyed bowling, and was a member of the women’s bowling league at the former Park Lanes. She was a former member of the FOE Lodge, Lehighton and a past member of the ladies society of the Brotherhood Locomotive Fireman and Enginemen, White Star Lodge number 328 of Lehighton. Mariposa had a beautiful soprano voice and sang professionally at the former Flagstaff Ballroom during the Big Band Era and sang at numerous weddings. After her retirement, she was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family. Marposa is survived by daughter Kathy, a son, Lynn & wife Renee’, of Lehighton, grandchildren, Sonya, wife of Josh Steigerwalt, and Cory DeHaven, of Lehighton, SFC Kristie, wife of Dominick Lamb of Newport News, VA & Lisa DeHaven of Tamaqua. She leaves behind 6 great-grandchildren, Danielle, wife of Kyle Cope, Jacob & Zachary Steigerwalt, Nicholas & Connor DeHaven, Javyn Eisenhower, & a beautiful 1 year old great-great-granddaughter, Gianna Cope. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Zellner II & a son Richard “Dick” Dehaven & his wife Narene “Sis” DeHaven. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made online at Parkinsons.org. Services will be held on Thursday, May 13th at 11 a.m. at Ovsak FH, 190 S. 4th St., Lehighton with the Rev. Dale Oplinger officiating. Call 9:30-11 a.m. Thursday.
