Mrs. Marian E. "Mem" (Schrader) Roberts

Mrs. Marian E. Roberts, 96, of Lehighton, Pa., passed into eternal rest on Wed. Oct. 1st at The Mahoning Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late David S. Roberts. Born in Lehighton Pa. on May 15, 1929, she was the daughter of the late William & Cora (Getz) Schrader. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at The Donna Mullen Hair Salon, Lehighton,  for many years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Palmerton, Pa. "Mem" held court at the never-ending coffee klatch around her kitchen table. Seating was always at a premium. Faithful friends and devoted neighbors were a vital part of Mem's life and created the best of times for her. Those friends and neighbors were a true blessing to her entire family. Surviving are 2 daughters, Lorene E. , wife of Loren LaRose of Palmerton, Lynette A. , wife of David Becattini of Lansdale, a son Layne D. Roberts & his fiance' Kathryn McEvilly of Lehighton, 9 grandchildren, 8 Great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry W. Roberts in 1997.Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 8th at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave. Palmerton with the Rev. Ken Melber officiating. Call 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Ovsak FH, 190 S. 4th St., Lehighton and Wednesday 10:00-11 a.m. at the church. Intement in the Red Church Cemetery, Route 61 Orwigsburg, Pa. following the church services. Memorial Contributions in her honor may be made to the Holy Trinity Church at 18071.
