Mrs. Karen Mary (Lemoncelli) Hansler

Karen Mary Hansler, 71, ( née Lemoncelli), of Andreas, died Monday Nov. 10, 2025 at St. Luke’s Hospital-Miners campus in Coaldale, surrounded by her loving family.  

She was born and raised in Peckville, and was the proud daughter of Gino and Grace Ceci Lemoncelli. She graduated from Valley View High School in Archbald.

Karen’s alma mater was the Kutztown University of Pennsylvania where she earned a Bachelors of Science in Education with a certificate in visual impairments and later earned a Masters in Special Education from Marywood University. She was a teacher of the visually impaired who worked most of her career for the Luzerne Intermediate Unit, where she primarily taught students in the Hazleton Area School District. Following her retirement from the IU she continued educating. She was the founder, proprietor and sole employee of IC Vision Consultants, a contracting service that independently served blind and visually impaired children. 

Karen was a member of St. Joseph’s Church of the Panther Valley in Summit Hill. Like her mother Grace, Karen was a devout Roman Catholic, and was especially devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Anthony of Padua. She donated frequently to the Franciscans and was an active member of the Schuylkill County Democratic Committee.

Karen was an avid reader, and loved traveling and spending time with her family.

Surviving are her husband, Charles W. Hansler, and daughter, Emily Hansler, both of Andreas, and her son Charles A. Hansler, Jackson, Miss.; brothers Eugene Lemoncelli,( Nannette) Peckville, and James Lemoncelli, (Patricia) Knoxville, Tenn.

Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. Nov. 17th at St. Joseph’s Church of the Panther Valley, 462 Ludlow St, Summit Hill from 9:30am-11:00am.  Interment, Ben Salem UCC, 1965 Church Hill Rd, Lehighton.
