Mrs. Helen E. (Smith) Nothstein

Mrs. Helen E. Nothstein, 86, of Lehighton passed away on Tuesday, January 1st in The Mahoning Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Lehighton. She was the wife of the late Sherwood M. H. Nothstein who passed away September 24, 1992. Born in Mahoning Valley, on May 1st 1932, she was a daughter of the late Charles & Florence (Xander) Smith. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Scotty’s Fashions as a garment worker. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mahoning Valley and was a member of The Beaver Run Rod & Gun Club. A family oriented person, she enjoyed spending time with her children & grandchildren. Surviving are 4 daughters, Sharon, wife of Franklin Smith, Susan, wife of Robert Hunsicker, Ruth Ann, wife of Paul Mriss of Lehighton, Terri, wife of Jeffrey Czonstka of Allentown, 4 sons, Wayne Nothstein & his wife Donna of Lehighton, Dwight Nothstein & his wife Orpha, of Lehighton, Drew Nothstein of Nesquehoning, David Nothstein & his wife Lori of Lehighton, 3 sisters, Gloria Heilman of Lehighton, Joy, wife of Louis Armbruster of Jim Thorpe, Doris, wife of Timothy Mazenko of Irvona, Pa., 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 2 Great-great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 5th at 11 a.m. at The Ovsak FH, 190 S. 4th St., Lehighton with SALM Emma Weaver officiating. Call 9-11 a.m. Sat. Interment in St. John’s Cemetery, Mahoning Valley, Pa.
