Mrs. Florence Steigerwalt Obituary

Mrs. Florence M. Steigerwalt, 88, of Lehighton and formerly of Bowmanstown, passed into eternal rest on Saturday March 8th at Mrs. Bush’s Personal care Home, Kunkletown, PA. She was the wife of the late Burdell C. Steigerwalt who died October 17, 2018. Born in Lehighton PA on Thursday, March 26, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Clifford C. and Elinor H. (Hahn) Hoffman. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a factory worker/laborer for the former Keystone Lamp Factory, Slatington and previously worker in the garment industry. Florence was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Bowmanstown and was a former member of the Gnaden Huetten Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed her family and in her spare time she could be found sewing, baking, embroidering, gardening, and doing ceramics.

Surviving are two daughters Cindy Mack of Palmerton and Julie Graver (Ricky) of Lehighton; two sisters Ruth Ann Mertz and Susan Crostley (William) both of Lehighton; two brothers Clarence Hoffman (Beatrice) and Carl Hoffman both of Lehighton; four grandchildren Heidi, Tiffany, Jeanna, and Shawn; five great grandchildren Lily, Chloe, Karter, Coe, and Knox; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters June Doll and Gladys Goldberg and a brother Clifford Hoffman.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Trinty Lutheran Church, 500 Ore St. Bowmanstown, Pa 18030, with the Rev. Kenneth Melber officiating. Call Thursday morning 9:30- 11:00 A.M. in the church. Interment in Dinky Memorial Cemetery, Ashfield Pa. Contributions in her name may be made to the church.
