Mrs. Doreen A. (Mertz) Roth

Mrs. Doreen A. Roth nee Mertz, 89, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 16th at St. Luke's Carbon Campus. Born in Mahoning Valley, Lehighton, Pa. on Sept. 2, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. & Helen V. (Mertz) Mertz. She was the widow of Durelle A. Roth who passed away April 1, 2016. She graduated from Lehighton High School in 1953. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and Mahoning Union Sunday School where she had 42 years of perfect attendance. She was a Life member of Beaver Run Rod & Gun Club and the Orioles Nest #183 auxiliary and a member of American Legion Aux. #314 all of Lehighton. She worked at Bar-Sew for 43 years & Scotty's for 2 years. She was a member of the ILGWU & shop secretary for 42 years. She was preceded in death by brothers, Eldon, Delbert, Gordon, & sisters, Eldora Herszeg, Phyllis Mertz, Delphine Miller, & Jean Weiss. She is survived by many nieces & nephews. A Memorial Service in her honor will be held on Sat. April 5th at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church ,826 Mahoning Dr. W. with the Rev. Anthony P. Pagotto officiating. call 9-10:30 a.m. Sat. Interment in the parish cemetery. Memorial Contributions in her name may be made to the church at 18235.
