Mrs. Dolores M. (Koch) Hontz

Dolores M. Hontz, 89, formerly of Coal St. Lehighton, passed away Sunday, July 25, in Heritage Hill, Weatherly. She was the wife of Paul R. Hontz who died in 1999. Born in Lehighton, she was the daughter of the late Albert U. & Margaret L. (Monk) Koch. She was a member of Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, where she was a faithful and active member. She was a volunteer in the gift shop at the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital as well as many other civic organizations. She was devoted to her family. Surviving are two children, Timothy Hontz of Reisterstown MD, and Ivy Hontz of Aurora CO, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, her beloved 1949 classmates, and her church family. There will be a visitation at the family residence at 1049 Coal St., Lehighton from 1-4 p.m. on Thursday July 29th and an additional visitation on Friday, July 30th from 9-10 a.m. at the Ovsak FH, 190 S. 4th St. with services at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Tim Ream officiating. The interment will follow the services Friday in the Lehighton Cemetery, 4th & Alum St.  On September 19th there will be a picnic celebration at Mauch Chunk Lake Park at the Koch Wildoner Pavillion. Park opens at 10:00 am, entry fee included. More details later.
