Mrs. Cynthia Jean Kobal, 76, of Nis Hollow/Mahoning Township, passed into eternal rest on Wed. Dec. 27th at her residence. She was the wife of Michael D."Butch" Kobal. They were married for 59 years this past May 9th, 2023. Born in Lehighton Pa. on Monday March 30, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Sr. & Anna (Messinger) Zellner. Prior to her retirement, she was employed in the food & beverage industry as a Restaurant Manager. She started her career at Howard Johnson's in the Poconos, and worked for Trainer's Inn in Franklin Township, and held the position of manager at the Terrace Restaurant in Walnutport. Cyndy was a member of St. Mathew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, E. Weissport. She enjoyed reading books and looked forward to camping & boating trips to Fair Haven Beach State Park, NY, with her husband and family. Surviving in addition to her husband is a daughter, Michelle Marie Kobal of Palmerton, 3 sisters, Joann Peltz (Francis) of California, Mary Rogal of Lehighton, Robin Goldworm (Matthew) of New Hampshire, 1 brother, Wm Zellner (Jeanette) of Nis Hollow, 2 grandchildren, Dillon M. Hontz, Lexus Tamara Schmidt, 4 great-grandchildren, Carter, Camden, Elena, Luke Schmidt, nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter Tammy Jean Kobal (12/10/1983), a sister, Patricia Hamilton, & 3 brothers, Edward, Robert, & Richard Zellner. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial Contributions in her honor may be made to a veterans organization of choice. Online condolences can be offered at www.ovsakfh.com.
