Mrs. Bernice Irene (Flickinger) Hunsicker

On Oct. 11th, 2020, following a brief unexpected illness, Bernice Irene Hunsicker, 87, of Lehighton went to be with her Lord & Savior. Born in Lehighton she was the wife of the late Lawrence “Barney” W.Hunsicker to whom she was married to for 54 years. She was the daughter of the late Ray & Lorena ( Reinheimer) Flickinger and the step-daughter of the late Grace (Bauer) Flickinger. A graduate of Lehighton High School class of 1950, she was a devoted homemaker whose greatest joy was to provide and care for her family in every way. She was a member of Salem Bible Fellowship Church and served on the choir as well as on the Women’s Missionary Society and as a VBS and Sunday School teacher. She also had a passion for teaching children and even held Good  News Club in her back yard. Surviving are 2 daughters, Pamela & Susan of Lehighton, 2 sons, Craig and his wife Libby of Waterloo, NY, Chris & his wife Alma of Allentown, Pa., 6 grandchildren, Kathy, Matthew, Tiffani, Tanya, Sarah, Leah, 12 Great-grandchildren, Nathan, Abigail, Taylor, Kyler, Kaleb, Karisa, Mandy, Isaiah, Hunter, Austin, Katelyn, Alexis,1 Great-greatgrandchild, Micah, Sister in law, Joan Flickinger, Step-sisters, Mary Hunsicker, Diane, wife of Ray Sterling, of Lehighton, Blanche wife of Kurt Beushell of Colorado, Step-brothers, David Bauer & wife Kathy of Va., Daniel Bauer & wife Carol of Palmerton, James Bauer of Lehighton, nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by a son Kyle, a grandson Scott, & a brother, Willard Flickinger. Funeral Services on Friday, Oct. 16th at 10 a.m. at Salem Bible Fellowship Church 1105 Fredericks Grove Rd., Lehighton with the Rev. Robt. A. Johnson II officiating. Call Thursday, Oct. 15th from 6-8 p.m. at The Ovsak FH, 190 S. 4th St., Lehighton and from 9-10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16th in the church. Interment in Gnaden Huetten Cemetery, Lehighton. COVID 19 restrictions are in place. Facemasks are mandatory. Please limit your time with the family during the visitation so others may have their time to convey their condolences as well.
