Mr. Willard D. Creitz, 96, of Lehighton, Pa. passed into eternal rest on Thursday, October 14th at Mahoning Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Dorothy A. (Neff) Creitz. They were married for 77 years on April 1st of this year, 2021. Born in Mahoning Township, Pa. on Monday, May 11th, 1925, he was a son of the late Daniel F. & Grace A. (Gombert) Creitz. Willard served our country with the US Navy during WW II attaining the rank of Storekeeper 3rd Class. A member of the US Navy Sea Bee’s, he assisted with the construction of the Tinian, Northern Mariana islands landing strip from where the Enola Gay departed with the Atomic Bomb. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a foundry worker/molder for the Bethlehem Steel Corporation. He was a very active member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Lehighton where he volunteered his services for many years and enjoyed bowling with his friends and gardening. Surviving is a daughter, Joan D., wife of Russell H. Miller Jr. of Franklin Township, Pa., a granddaughter, Sherry, wife of Michael Rose, 2 great-grandchildren, Emily & Bennett Rose, nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Lester & Richard Creitz. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 20th at 11 a.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church, 301 North 2nd St., Lehighton, Pa. Call 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the church. Interment in the Lehighton Cemetery with full military honors under the direction of the Lehighton Area UVO.
