Mr. Sherwood Neil Andrews, 94. of Walnutport, Pa. passed into eternal rest on Monday, Dec. 16th at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. He was the husband of the late Mary N. Fletcher who passed away Sept. 19, 2014. Born in Aquashicola, Pa. on Friday Sept. 26th , 1930, he was a son of the late Morris & Hilda (Bachman) Andrews. He was a graduate of Palmerton Area High School and served our country with the US Army during the Korean War attaining the rank of Corporal (T) with the 35th FA BTTN. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Jaindl Farms, Lehigh County and formerly hauled explosives for the Baggett Transportation Co. and also transported freight for Roadway Express. He was a member of Dinkey Memorial Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ashfield, & The Lehighton American Legion Post 314. Sherwood was an exceptional bowler, golfer, baseball player, and loved watching the Phillies. Surviving is a daughter Kathryn E. Leadbetter and her companion Jerry Bundra of Walnutport, a son Thomas Andrews (Gayelynne) of Redding, Cal., 3 grandsons, Shawn Leadbetter (Megan) of Whitehall, Matt & Ben Andrews, his loving canine friend "Rhett," nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by 2 sisters, Phyllis Balliet, Jean Heiney, & a brother, Robert M. Andrews. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, Dec. 20th at 11 a.m. at Dinkey Memorial Lutheran Church 1742 Dinkey Road, Lehighton Pa. with the Rev. Anthony P. Pagotto officiating.
