Mr. Luther E. "Nuke" Muffley, 94, of Mahoning Township, Pa. passed into eternal rest on Wed. Aug. 21st. at Greenwood Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation, Hometown, Pa. He was the husband of Grace A. Marshall. Born in Lehighton on Sunday, July 20th, 1930, he was a son of the late Jacob & Helen (Strausberger) Muffley. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Schleicher's Inc & East Penn Trucking as a truckdriver with over 40 years of service. He attended church services at Zion UCC, Lehighton and held a membership at Beaver Run Rod & Gun Club. He enjoyed camping with his family & friends and having his daily cup of coffee with his friends in Lehighton. Surviving in addition to his wife are sons, Brian Marshall (Tammy) of Franklin Township, Terry Miller ( Sandy) of Palmerton, Steve Miller (Eileen) of East Penn Township, Wayne Muffley, & daughters, Sandra & Sylvia Muffley, many grandchildren, & great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Marie Curvey, Kathleen Sensinger, Ruth Andreas, & brothers, William "Bimp", Stewart, & Clarence "Mike" Muffley. Services will be held on Tues. Aug. 27th at 11 a.m. at The Ovsak FH, 190 S 4th St., Lehighton with the Rev. Dr. Dean D. Frey officiating. Call 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment in The Gnaden Huetten Cemetery, 4th & Union St. Lehighton. Memorial contributions in his honor may be made to Zion UCC, 225 Iron St., Lehighton Pa. 18235.
