Lamont J. Dotter, 87 of Lehighton went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 15 surrounded by his loving family. He was married to Faye (Kuntz) for 62 years this past Sept. After graduation he attended Penn State University and then enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served as a helicopter mechanic, and received a commendation ribbon for service aboard the Coast Guard Icebreaker Westwind while on a mission off the coast of Greenland. He most recently was employed at Marzen Feed and Hardware after retiring from Paris Accessories, Walnutport. Born on April 23, 1935 he was a son of the late Percy U. and Gussie (Solt) Dotter in Weissport. He received his Eagle Scout rank on Dec. 1, 1952, and continued to be active in scouting at Camp Trexler for many years after. He was exceptionally proud when his grandson, Matthew followed in his footsteps and received his Eagle Scout rank. He was predeceased by his parents, sisters Evelyn and Jean, an infant son and daughter, son-in-law, Philip Yost, and in-laws Clarence (Tim) and Gertrude Kuntz.
