Mr. John J. "Jack" Knorr

Mr. John J. "Jack" Knorr II, 83, of Bear Creek Lakes, passed into eternal rest on Wed. June 10th at his residence. He was the husband of the late Mary F. (Kershaw) Knorr who passed away April 27th, 2021. Born in Phila. Pa. on Nov. 25, 1942, he was a son of the late John J. & Ellen Caubre Knorr I. He served our country with the US Army during the Viet Nam war with the Bttry A 5th Btn 57th Arty attaining the rank of SP4. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a Philadelphia police officer. Jack was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Jim Thorpe, and also held memberships with the Bear Creek Lakes Assoc. & the Mauch Chunk Rod & Gun Club. He was a Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed Bowling, Karaoke and spending time with his family. Surviving is a companion, Joanne Troutman, a daughter, Susan P. Landis (William), of Phila., 2 sons, Peter A. Knorr of Quakertown, John J. Knorr III (Kathleen) of Apex, N. Carolina, 3 grandchildren, Shannan, Robert, William, 5 Great-grandchildren, Joseph, Sean, Cole, Addison, Aiden, Nieces & Nephews. He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Robt. & William Knorr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tues. June 16th at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 180 W. Broadway, Jim Thorpe, Pa. with the Rev. Ronald Minner officiating. call 9:30 -11 a.m. Tuesday. Interment in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Jim Thorpe with full military honors under the direction of the Lehighton Area UVO.
