Francis L. Hofford, 93, of Lehighton, PA, passed away Friday, September 6, 2024, at Mahoning Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born March 28, 1931, in Lehighton, PA, he was the son of the late Kenneth L. Hofford and Edna Mae (Hinkle) Eck. He was the stepson of the late Margaret Hofford and the late Harry E. Eck.
Frank enlisted in the United States Army and served for two years before reenlisting in the United States Air Force, during which time he served in Korea and Vietnam. He attained the rank of Master Sergeant before retiring in 1975 after 26 years of military service. He then worked for the United States Postal Service until his retirement.
He was a member of the Shoemaker-Haydt American Legion Post No. 314, Korean Last Man’s Club, and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Frank enjoyed playing darts, bowling, traveling to Penn State football games, and watching Phillies baseball.
He was the husband of the late Marion A. (Yavorski) Hofford. Frank is survived by his two daughters, Mylene Hofford and Monique Hofford, both of Lehighton, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a brother, Bruce K. Hofford, and sisters, Faydra G. Powers and Almeda L. Eck.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family in the Andrew P. Ovsak Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Lehighton Cemetery. Memorial contributions in his honor may be made to the Lehighton UVO.
