1951 graduate of Lehighton High School, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served during the Korean War.
He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ and the Beaver Run Rod and Gun Club, both of Lehighton.
The deceased enjoyed hunting, guns, reloading ammunition, watching NASCAR, cheering on Rusty Wallace. Ed also cheered on the Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia Eagles and Penn State Nittany Lions.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a daughter, Wendy, wife of H. Scott Everett, and a son, Randy J., and his wife, Cynthia, both of Whitehall; two sisters, Betty Beck of Effort and Janet Dorward of Lehighton; two brothers, Wayne R., and his wife, Dolores, and Franklin B., and his companion, Cheryl, both of Lehighton; a grandson Corey, and his fiancée, Julianna; a granddaughter, Erin Everett; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by an infant brother Daniel and a sister, Beatrice Armbruster.
