Mr. Dean R. Leickel

Mr. Dean R. Leickel, 87, of Lehighton, passed nto eternal rest on Tues. Jan. 13th at LV Hospital-Carbon. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Mertz) Leickel. Born in Palmerton Pa. on 8/13/1938, he was a son of the late Lewis & Jesse (Kennedy) Leickel. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a laborer at the NJ Zinc/Horsehead Industries, Palmerton, Pa.  He served our country with the US Army during the Viet Nam War as a PFC. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutherrn Church, Packerton, Life Member of Lehigh Fire Company#1,The Lehighton American Legion Post 314, and The Andreas Sporting Club. Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Lorrie Koch of Lehighton, 2 sons, Bruce Leickel of Catawissa, Jeffrey Leickel (Adrienne) of Lehighton, a brother William Leickel, a sister, Christine Lichtenwalner, 6 grandchildren, 6 greatgrandchildren, nieces & nephews.
