Mr. Clifford E. Hoffman, 81, of Saylorsburg, Pa. passed away Friday, June 30th at his residence. He was the husband of Carol L. (Nothstein) Hoffman. They were married for 62 years last November 19th. Born in Palmerton, Pa. on Jan. 16, 1942, he was a son of the late Clifford C. & Elinor H. (Hahn) Hoffman. He served our country with the Penna. Army National Guard, Co. B. 165th MP Battalion attaining the rank of SP4. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a caretaker in the explosives industry and formerly worked for the NJ Zinc Co. & Scotty’s Fashions. He was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Lehighton, & The Beaver Run Rod & Gun Club. He enjoyed camping with his loving family and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Kay Louise Schiefer of Saylorsburg, a son, Bruce Hoffman & his wife Betty Ann of Jim Thorpe, 3 sisters, Florence Steigerwalt of Kunkletown, Ruth Ann Mertz of Lehighton, Susan, wife of William A. Crostley, of Lehighton, 2 brothers, Carl Hoffman of Lehighton, Clarence N. Hoffman & his wife Beatrice of Lehighton, 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Kevin Hoffman and twin children, Penny & Todd Hoffman, a grandson Bruce Hoffman Jr., & 2 sisters, June Doll & Gladys Goldberg. A Memorial Service in his honor will be held on Friday, July 7th at 11 a.m. at The Ovsak FH, 190 S. 4th St., Lehighton with Martha Cox officiating. Call 10-11 a.m. on Friday.
