Michael Joseph Walker

Michael Joseph Walker, 58, of Kulpmont, entered into eternal rest Sunday, July 30, 2023. He was the husband of Jamie L. (Quinn) Walker. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of Barbara E. (Speeney) Walker and the late Joseph M. Walker who passed away January 5, 2009. He was employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections for 30 years until retiring this year. He was a graduate of Tamaqua Area High School and then earned an associate degree from LCCC. Michael served our country with the Pennsylvania Army National Guard with 20 years of service and was activated and participated in the Desert Storm Persian Gulf War.  He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #464, Mount Carmel. Mike enjoyed building fine scale models and was a military history buff.  

Surviving along with his wife and mother are a daughter Sophia Walker of Lehighton; son Ethan J. Walker and his fiancé Sierra of Macungie; a brother Keith W. Walker of Portland, OR; step daughter Mandee Quinn and her fiancé Austin of Pleasant Gap, PA; step sons Allan Quinn of Sunbury, PA and DJ Quinn and his fiancé Chole of Pittsburgh; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, August 07, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 260 N. 3rd St., Lehighton, PA 18235 with Rev. Christopher M. Zelonis officiating. Military interment will be held in St. Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Lehighton. Family will receive friends 10-11:00 A.M. in the church. Donations will be accepted in his name to Lehighton American Legion Post 314, 381 Bridge St., Lehighton, Pa 18235. Andrew P. Ovsak F.H. has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
