Obituary

Brother  Michael R. Harleman, 75, of Palmerton, Pa. was called off from labor on Wednesday, September 13th at St. Luke's Hospital, Carbon Campus. He was the husband of Doreen "Dodie" (Kromer) Harleman. They were married for 54 years this past May 31st 2023. Born in Lehighton, he was the son of the late Glenn R. & Betty H. (Hodel) Harleman. Mike was a graduate of Villanova University with a bachelors degree and attended Lehigh University as well. He served our country in Viet Nam and Thailand with the United States Air Force attaining the rank of Sergeant as a voice process specialist. He was currently the Executive Vice President of the 1st Northern Bank of Palmerton. A Community leader and inspiration to many, he served on Palmerton Hospital/Blue Mountain Health Systems board of directors, the board of St. Luke's Miners Hospital, the board of Carbon County Chamber of Commerce, the Executive Board of the Lehigh County Chamber of Commerce, the board of Dream Come True, and held the position of Treasurer of the Salvation Army. He held memberships with Lehighton F& AM Lodge #621, Lehigh Consistory Valley of Allentown, & the Rajah Shrine, Reading, Pa. Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Amye, wife of Russ Snider of Maryland, a son, Matthew Harleman & his wife Kristen of Ohio, 2 sisters, Ann, wife of Bruce Gower of Lehighton, Beth, wife of Francis Yaroszeufski of Lehighton,& 5 grandchildren,  Estelle, & Sylvia Snider, Mason, Luke, & Cole Harleman. Funeral Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial Contributions in his honor may be made to a charity of choice. Online condolences can be offered at www.ovsakfh.com.
