Marie obituary

Marie L. Rusnak (Bugarewicz) 58 of Lehighton passed away January 28, 2025.  

She was born in Philadelphia on April 12th, 1966.  She attended Saint Jude elementary in Mountaintop Pa and East Penn Elementary in Ashfield Pa.  She graduated in 1984 from Lehighton Area High School and Carbon County Area Vocational Technical school with a degree in Cosmetology.  She also attended the Allentown Business School.  

She was a licensed Cosmetologist and ran her own shop, TR Leslie’s, in Hazelton.  After retiring from cosmetology, she moved on to Day-Timers as an Accounts Specialist for many years until they closed their doors.  From there she attended HR Block and received her license as a Tax preparer professional.  She enjoyed working with numbers and moved on to Carbon County Children And Youth as a Fiscal Assistant for several years.  She soon joined Quakertown Community School District as an Accounts Payable Specialist.  

Marie had a love for Siamese and Maine Coon cats and was a fur mommy to several.  She loved to crochet and made several afghans and sweaters for her loved ones.  She was a successful couponer and left many stores in awe of her savvy skills.  

Marie is survived by her Mother Eileen Bugarewicz,  Husband Donald Rusnak,  Son Michael Bugarewicz and his wife Krysten,  Son Benjamin Rusnak and partner Emily DeKorte, two grandchildren Zachary and Madison Bugarewicz, and brother Stephen Bugarewicz and a sister Christine Bugarewicz both of Lehighton.  She was preceded in death by her father, Frank "Bogie" Bugarewicz, & a brother Michael Bugarewicz.

Services:  Viewing will be held at the Andrew P. Ovsak funeral home,  4th and Iron Steet, Lehighton, Pa 18235 on Sunday February 2nd 2025. Calling hours will be from 5pm to 7pm. Flowers can be sent to Ovsak Funeral Home.  

Mass service will be held at Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Monday Feb. 3rd at 11 a.m. 260 N. 3rd street, Lehighton, PA 18235.  Viewing from 10 am-11am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the Mass/viewing at Sky View Memorial in Hometown.
