Marie J. (Wargo) Obert

Marie J. Obert, 85, of Lehighton, Pa., passed into eternal rest on Saturday, Sept. 11th at the Summit Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Lehighton. Born in Beaver Meadows, Pa. on Friday, January 3rd, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Nicholas & Anna (Mormak) Wargo. She was a lifelong associate real estate broker and worked for several of the local real estate offices. Marie was a member of SS Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church and the Carbon County Realtors Association. She was an avid skier and enjoyed spending time with her loving family. Surviving are two sons, Michael G. Obert & his wife Kristen of East Penn Township, Daniel H.D. Obert and his companion Valerie Marchioni of Nashua, New Hampshire, a brother, Paul Wargo of Somerset, New Jersey, 3 grandchildren, Abigail, Grace, & Olivia Obert, nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Ann Mary Obert, a sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Gavinski & a brother, Nicholas Wargo. A Mass of Christian Burial in her honor will be celebrated on Friday, September 17th at 12 noon at SS Peter & Paul RC Church, 260 North 3rd St., Lehighton with the Reverend Christopher M. Zelonis & Deacon Joseph C. Wilhelm Jr. officiating. Call 11-12 noon in the church. Interment in SS Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery following the Mass.
