Nesquehoning, PA – Louise G. (Mullen) Schneider, age 92, of Nesquehoning, passed away at home on February 22, 2023. She was the loving wife of William A. Schneider, sharing over 69 years of marriage.
Louise was born in York on December 13, 1930, and was the daughter of Lloyd A. Mullen and Agnes E. (Lawrence) Mullen. She graduated from York Catholic High School as Salutatorian in 1949 and from Sacred Heart Hospital School of Nursing in Allentown, PA earning her RN degree in 1952. Louise and William were united in marriage in 1953 by her uncle, Rev. Robert V. Lawrence, O.S.A. She was employed for many years at York Hospital, Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, and Lehigh Valley Hospital until her retirement in 1995. Louise was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Church in York, PA and Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Lehighton, PA, belonging to the Altar and Rosary Societies at both.
In addition to her husband William, Louise is survived by her sons William J. Schneider and his wife, Sylvia, of Culpeper, VA; Joseph D. Schneider and his wife, Martha, of Orting, WA; Francis A. Schneider and his wife, Irene, of Sterling Heights, MI; daughters Theresa L. Innerst of Weatherly, PA; Ann E. Wilhelm and her husband, Joseph, of Lehighton, PA; Rita M. Mest and her husband, Willard, of Alburtis, PA; Margaret R. McCabe and her husband, Robert, of Zionsville, PA; Mary A. Miller and her husband, Ricky, of Tamaqua, PA; and Joan M. Radler and her husband, Dirk, of Lehighton, PA. and by 25 grandchildren and 15 grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Francis J. Mullen; her sisters Rita Sagedy and Helena Angle and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Cecilia M. Havens, brother Lloyd Mullen and sisters Mary A. Reilly, Sr. Agnes Anthony Mullen SSJ, Sr. Mary Rita Mullen O.Carmel, Sr. Rosemarie Mullen MSC, and Catherine M. Livelsberger.
