Jean Ardith Rice

Jean Ardith Rice, 97, formerly of Lehighton, Pa. passed into eternal rest on Sat. Dec. 28th at Forest Hills Rehab. & Healthcare Ctr., Weatherly, Pa. Born in Lehighton, Pa. on Monday June 20, 1927, she was the daughter of the late George & Nettie (Warner) Rice. She was a Lehighton Area High School graduate and formerly was employed by Peerless Mills as a sewing machine operator and also worked in production at AT&T Allentown, Pa. Jean was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lehighton where she was a 27 year member of the parish choir. She also served on the Trinity Building Committee, Meals on Wheels, and the Willing Workers of the parish. She was a member of the Treble Clef Traveling Women's Choir and served as a board member of the AT&T Travel Club, & The Gnaden Huetten Cemetery board of directors. Surviving are several cousins. A Celebration Of Life Memorial Service in her honor will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2025 at 1 p.m. at The Ovsak FH 190 S. 4th St. Lehighton with LLM Kathy Long officiating. Call 12 Noon until 1 p.m. Interment in Gnaden Huetten Cemetery, 4th & Union St., Lehighton.
