Mr. Jacob “Jack” Hoffman, 87, of Lehighton passed into eternal rest on Tuesday, Jan. 12th at St. Luke’s Hospital-Lehighton. He was the husband of Marguerite (McGuire) Hoffman of Lehighton. Born in Allentown, Pa. on Friday, Dec. 29th, 1933, he was a son of the late Maurice & Mary (Galbavy) Hoffman. Prior to his retirement, he was employed at Hoffman Brothers salvage yard, Parryville, as a yard manager/tow truck driver and was recently employed as a bus driver. “Jack” served our country with the US Army from 1954 thru 1957 attaining the rank of SP-3 (T). He was a member of Temple Israel Synagogue, Lehighton, The Lehighton American Legion Post 314, The Lehighton Orioles Nest #183, and held a Life membership with the Lehigh Fire Company #1. Surviving in addition to his wife are 2 daughters, Sharon Hoffman of Lehighton, Joanne McGuire of Palmerton, 2 sons, Martin Hoffman of Palmerton, Ronald Hoffman of Lehighton, a sister, Sandra Fritz of East Penn Township, a brother, Richard H. “Dick” Hoffman Sr. of Ashfield, grandchildren Jenn & Jared McGuire, Chad & Chelsey Hoffman, nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Charles “Bubby” McGuire & a granddaughter, Melissa McGuire. Services & Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
