Franklin Rex Obituary

Franklin J. Rex, 64, of Lehighton, Pa. passed away Monday, November 4th at The Lehigh Valley Hospital Inpatient Hospice Unit, 17th & Chew St. Allentown, Pa. Born on Thursday, February 3, 1955, he was a son of the late Franklin H. & Hedwig M. (Fasching) Rex. He was most recently employed in the construction trade as a Carpenter/Painter. Frank was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lehighton and was a former member of Lehigh Fire Co. #1. An avid sports enthusiast, he enjoyed bowling & watching the Philadelphia Eagles & Phillies in their sports contests. He loved food, especially peanut butter and enjoyed playing Pa. Lottery Scratch-Off tickets. Surviving are 2 daughters, Samantha A. Rex & her companion Matthew Dimler of Coplay, Pa., Jamie Ann Rex of Effort, Pa., 5 sisters, Diana M., wife of Joseph Feeney of Pottsville, Pa., Mary Ann, wife of Michael Minnich, Susan A. Rex, Karen L., wife of Howard Williams, Lori A., wife of Harold Schafer of Lehighton, Pa., 2 brothers, Robert D. Rex, James R. Rex & his wife Diane of Lehighton, a grandson, Hunter Lee Dimler, nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Carol Brennan in 2012. A Celebration Of Life Memorial Service in his honor will be held on Friday, November 8th at 11 a.m. at The Ovsak FH, 190 S. 4th St., Lehighton, Pa. with Vicar Joshua Krenz officiating. Call 9:30-11:00 a.m. Friday. The Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
