Elaine E. “Toots” Wentz, 90, of Mahoning Township, formerly of the Lehighton High Rise, passed into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 29th at her residence. Born in Weissport, Pa. on Saturday, October 17, 1931, she was a daughter of the late William H. & Mary E. (Boger) Wentz. Prior to her retirement in 1996, she was employed as a sewing machine operator for Barson & Bishop Mills, & Scotty’s Fashions. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lehighton and spent time as a member of the Golden Agers of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed Bingo, trips to the Casinos and loved to sew, bake, & cook for her loving family and especially her friends at the Lehighton High Rise. Surviving is a daughter Carla Polk of Mahoning Township, a grandson, Christopher Polk & his wife Kristin of Fleetwood, 2 Great-grandsons, Evan & Connor Polk, nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Diane Marie Stamm, a sister, Shirley McFarland, and a son in law William “Billy” Polk. Funeral Services & Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial Contributions in her honor may dedicated to a church of charity of choice.
