Delores Graver Obituary

Mrs. Delores (Andrew) Graver, 90, of Lehighton, passed into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, in the Summit Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Lehighton.  She was the widow of Arthur F. “Junie” Graver Jr., whom she celebrated 59 years of marriage prior to his passing on May 21, 2011.

Born in Parryville, on March 20, 1932, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Edna M. (Beers) Andrew.

She was a 1950 graduate of Lehighton Area High School.  Throughout her life she was employed by various clothing factories; including Barson & Bishop and Hofford Mill of Weissport, Paris Neckware of Parryville and Indigo Jeans of Lehighton.  Delores waitressed at the Pohopoco Diner and Trainer’s Inn, served as the “Head Cook” at the Shull David Elementary School in the school cafeteria and in her later years worked as a clerk for Miller’s Country Store.

She loved all animals, including farm animals and enjoyed helping her grandchildren prepare their 4-H animals for the Fair.  Delores loved her family fiercely and truly had a heart of gold.

Delores was a member of St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, East Weissport, a life member of the Franklin Twp. Volunteer Fire Co., The Big Creek Grange, The American Legion Auxiliary and the Senior Group at Jacob’s UCC, Weissport.

Surviving are three daughters, Patti, wife of Oliver Nansteel, Debra Juliano, and Sue, wife of Kim Koch, all of Lehighton; two sons, Dale and his wife, Sandra of Jim Thorpe, and Paul, and his wife, Diane of Franklin Township. 9 grandchildren; Barry Gruber, Sabrina (Nansteel) Bunt, Jenny (Graver) Dufrene, Scott Graver, Trisha (Nansteel) Amorim, Tanya (Koch) Ahner, Julie (Juliano) Miller, Christiana (Graver) Powell and Luke Graver. 16 great-grandchildren; Elijah King, Paige & Aidan Gruber, Sienna & Landon Bunt, Caleb & Conner Dufrene, Ty & Logan Graver, Kaitlyn & Ryan Ahner, Hallie & Briella Miller and Cadence, Cora & Charlotte Graver. 1 great-great grandchild; Adrianna King; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, William R. Andrew; son-in-law, William C. Juliano; and a sister-in-law, Helen (Graver) Wentz.

Service: Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 19th at 11 a.m. at The Ovsak Funeral Home, 190 S. Fourth Street, Lehighton, with the Rev. Mike Frost officiating. Call 9-11 a.m. Tuesday. Interment will be at St. Matthew Cemetery, N. Weissport.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her name to the Franklin Township Vol. Fire Co., 2440 Fairyland Road or St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, 222 Church St., Lehighton Pa. 18235.
