David Charles Schleicher was born on Feb. 6, 1953, in Palmerton. On Dec. 23, 2020, he lost his short battle with ALS. He passed away in the home of his daughter and son-in-law in central Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Jane (Leslie) Schleicher; a son, Bruce Schleicher; a brother, Leslie Schleicher; and his partner, Bunny Fadden.
He enjoyed working on the family farm and was a truck mechanic by trade. He truly enjoyed working with his hands.
He loved spending time with his family and with the family pets.
David was a member of several social organizations, including the American Legion in Lehighton, the Lehighton Fire Department, the Orioles and the East Penn Sporting Club.
He was surrounded by his immediate family during the last few months before he was taken home by the Lord.
He is survived by his daughter, Karen (Schleicher) Albury, wife of Robert W. Albury Jr.; seven grandchildren, Joshua Albury, Lena Albury (fianceé of Orane Walters), Chloe Schleicher, Gavyn Schleicher, Olivia Stein, Gary Schleicher and Cayda Schleicher; three great-grandchildren, Joshua, Lukas and Bryce; two brothers and two sisters, Darlene Hedrick, Louise Weiss, Todd Schleicher and Warren Schleicher Jr.
Service: Celebration of life 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, Union Hill Cemetery, Lehighton, on the 6-month anniversary of his death. The service will be followed by a light lunch for friends and family at the Orioles in Lehighton.
