David L. Hunter, 65, of Lehighton, passed into eternal rest on Wed. Aug, 18th at his residence. Born in Lehighton on Tues. July 31, 1956, he was a son of the late Ralph & Dolores (Campbell) Hunter. David worked as a millworker for over 25 years at Scotty’s Fashions, Lehighton and most recently worked for JC Slaw Concrete Products for over 10 years. He was a Life member of The Lehighton Orioles Nest #183 and also a Life member of The Lehigh Fire Co. #1. He held a social membership at The Lehighton American Legion Post #314. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed pheasant, rabbit, and deer hunting in the local area and fishing Beltzville Lake for Bass and joining his fellow fishermen in Massachusetts for Cod fishing. He participated in several bass tournaments on Beltzville Lake during his lifetime. David and his son Zachary spent numerous hours at the 3 o’clock springs throwing horseshoes and fishing for native trout. Surviving is a son, Zachary D. Hunter & his wife Molly of Franklin Township, 4 brothers, Robert Hunter & his wife Raylene, Ralph Hunter & his wife Cindy, Paul Hunter & his wife Lisa of the Lehighton area, Larry Hunter & his wife Sherry of Arizona, 2 grandchildren, Maci & Grant, nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by an infant son. A Memorial/Celebration of Life gathering may be announced in the future.
