1951 - 2025
Daniel W. Laughlin, 74, of Franklin Twp. entered into eternal rest Tuesday, April 29, 2025 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus. He was the husband of Gina Musante. They celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary on June 23rd of last year. Born in Ashland, PA, he was a son of the late James and Irene (Nagy) Laughlin. He was a United States Navy Veteran where he worked as a radioman for 20 years. He was also employed as a lift operator for Blue Mountain Ski Resort and a maintenance worker for Mauch Chunk Lake. He was a graduate of Shamokin High School Class of 1969. He enjoyed everything to do with the outdoors including hunting, fishing, golfing, and cutting grass on the zero-turn mower at the lake. Dan also enjoyed his family trips to Atlantic City and claimed he'd "come in second place" in his 3 Ernest Hemingway look-alike contests in Key West, FL.
Surviving along with his wife are daughters Mandie VonAchen and her husband Peter, and Brandi Melis both of Myrtle Beach, SC; a sister Diane Bressi and her husband Albert of Marion Heights, PA; a brother David Wanzie and his wife Brenda of Nescopeck; grandchildren Matthew VonAchen, Jonathan Von Achen, and Tyler Melis; great granddaughter Elena; a niece Danelle Bressi-Scott; a nephew Stephen Bressi; and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by twin daughters Stacey Lynn and Emily Elizabeth Laughlin.
A Visitation will be held Monday, May 5, 2025 from 6-8:00 P.M. in the Andrew P. Ovsak Funeral Home, 190 S. 4th St., Lehighton, PA. Military interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Franklin Heights, Cemetery. The Andrew P. Ovsak Funeral Home has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
