Clark A. “Shorty” Ritter, 78, of Lehighton, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, October 23, 2024 in his residence. He was the husband of Carol A. (Kimmel) Ritter. They celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on January 6th of this year. Born in Mahoning Twp., he was a son of the late Marvin F. Sr. and Margaret E. (Clark) Ritter. He was employed by the Pennsylvania State Police as a Trooper until his retirement in 1993. He was the Mayor of the Lehighton Borough for the past 7 years. He was a graduate of Lehighton Area High School Class of 1964. He was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ, Lehighton, the Hazleton State Police FOP, and the Beaver Run Rod and Gun Club, Lehighton. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge 621, F and AM, Lehighton and the Rajah Shriners. Shorty devoted his entire life to his community and his family.  He will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched, especially, his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Surviving along with his wife Carol are sons Scott A. Ritter and his wife Cynthia, and Christopher T. Ritter and his wife Jennifer, both of Lehighton, and a daughter Melissa Snerr and her companion Mark Case of Jim Thorpe; a brother Marvin F. Jr. and his wife Shirley of Womelsdorf, PA; grandchildren Tyler Ritter, Alex Ritter, Kenneth Snerr Jr., Caroline (Snerr) McLaughlin, and Elizabeth Snerr; and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 31, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. in the Andrew P. Ovsak Funeral Home, 190 S. 4th St., Lehighton, with Rev. Dr. Dean D. Frey officiating. Interment with Police Honors will be held in the Gnaden Huetten Cemetery, Lehighton. Call Thursday morning 9-11:00 A.M. in the funeral home.
