Mr. Charles N. Messina, 94, of Andreas, passed into eternal rest on Feb, 3rd, 2025 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton, Pa. He was the husband of the late Agnes J. (Bradley) Messina. She passed away Jan. 15, 2014. Born in Abington, Pa. Jan. 24, 1931, he was a son of the late Charles C. & Angela A. Messina. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a truckdriver for Atlantic/Sunoco and also worked as a masonry contractor. He served our country with the US Army during the Korean War from 1952-54.He was a member of SS Peter & Paul RC Church, Lehighton and the George S. Patton VFW Post Andreas, Pa. In his spare time he enjoyed bowling in different leagues in the general area. In his younger years, he played semi-professional baseball for the Baltimore Orioles farm team (Columbia Reds) in Carolina, and later played in Sunbury Pa. He is survived by a son Robt. C. Messina (Lyn Allestra) of Andover Ct. He was predeceased by a brother, Salvatore Messina. A Memorial Mass in his honor will be held on Monday Feb. 10th at 11 a.m. at SS Peter & Paul RC Church, 260 North 3rd St., Lehighton with Rev. Christopher M. Zelonis & Deacon Joseph C. Wilhelm Jr. officiating. Call 10-11 a.m. in the church . There will be Military Honors following the Mass under the direction of the Lehighton Area UVO. The interment will be private.
