Charles Robert Lazun Jr., 79, of Franklin Twp., entered into eternal rest Wednesday, January 18, 2023 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton Campus. He was the husband of Donna (Schubert) Lazun. They celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on Jan 31st of last year. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Charles R. Sr. and Mary (Sydorak) Lazun. He was employed as a tractor trailer driver for Estes Express Lines for 12 years until retiring. He was a graduate of Liberty High School, Bethlehem and also attended Duquesne University. He was a United States Marine Corps Veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Lehighton. He was an avid golfer and Raiders football fan.
Surviving along with his wife are a son Charles W. Lazun of Lehighton; a sister Carol Shupp and her husband Joseph of Bangor.
He was also preceded in death by a brother Richard Lazun.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday March 28th at 11 a.m. at SS Peter & Paul RC Church 3rd & Coal St. Lehighton with Reverend Christopher M. Zelonis & Deacon Joseph C. Wilhelm Jr. officiating. Call 10-11 a.m. in the church. The interment will be private in Fort Indiantown Gap Military Cemetery, Annville, Pa.
