Betty J. (Leiby) Hedrick

Betty J. Leiby Hedrick, 70, of Palmerton, Pa. passed into eternal rest on Friday Sept. 17th at her residence. Born on Tuesday Dec. 26th , 1950, she was a daughter of the late Edwin A. & Gladys E. (Paules) Leiby. She was of the Lutheran Faith. Betty was a millworker for Fernbrook & Indigo Jeans and also worked as a bartender for The East Penn Sporting Club and the Palmerton Hungarian Club. She loved watching All Star Wrestling, & enjoyed Music, Shirley Temple, & Western TV shows and movies. Surviving is a daughter, Julie Varilek & her companion George Carpenter of Quakertown, Pa., 4 sisters, Janice Hoffacker of Palmerton, Carolyn wife of Terry Berger of Lehighton, Sandra wife of Charles Kistler of Palmerton, Eileen Hahn of West Bowmans, 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Wendy Kleppinger, 2 sisters, Sharon Williams, Cheryl Stuckley, 2 brothers, Barry & Edwin “Butch” Leiby. Funeral Services will be held on Wed. Sept. 22nd at 11 a.m. at The Ovsak FH, 190 S. 4th St., Lehighton with the Reverend Anthony P. Pagotto officiating. Call 10-11 a.m. Wed. at the funeral home.
