Allen Daniel Rohlfing, 81, of Lehighton, passed away January 8, 2025 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Carbon Campus. He was the husband of Elizabeth A. (Duffy) Rohlfing. They celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on September 25th of last year. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Kenneth W. and Isabel F. (Coombe) Rohlfing. He was self-employed as the owner/operator of Al’s Electric in Lehighton for 30 years. He was a graduate of Lehighton High School Class of 1962 and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Lehighton. He was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War as a communication specialist stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He was active in his community, serving as an assistant Boy Scott Leader, assistant mentor for the Jr. Rifle Association, hunter safety educator, and assistant football coach for the pee-wee and knee-high football programs. Allen was also an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and gardening, but he especially loved the time spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Surviving along with his wife are a daughter Susan A. Gasper (John) Lewes, DE; a son Kenneth M. (Lisa) of Lehighton; brothers Harold Rohlfing (Cindy) and Jason Frey (Brandy) both of Lehighton; grandchildren George Rohlfing, Michael Gasper, Kathleen Gasper Baker, and Kenneth S. Rohlfing; great grandchildren Jaxon, Sally, Oliver, Case Everett, and Callyn; and daughter in law Patricia Hartman.
He was also preceded in death by a son Allen K. Rohlfing.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 9:30 A.M. in the First Presbyterian Church, 304 Mahoning St., Lehighton. Military interment will follow in the Lehighton Cemetery. Online condolences at www.ovsakfh.com.
