Mr. Ronald A. Neff, 77, of Ashfield, Pa. passed into eternal rest on Tues. Aug. 17th at St. Luke’s Hospital, Lehighton, Pa. He was the husband of Karla D. (Borger) Neff. They were married for 56 years on May 1st of this year. Born in Lehighton, Pa. on Friday June 2nd, 1944, he was a son of the late Norman & Dorothy (Montz) Neff. He served our country with the US Navy in Viet Nam attaining the rank of ATN3 while serving aboard the USS Independence. Prior to his retirement, he was a self-employed electrical contractor/electrician for over 25 years and also worked as a General Pennsylvania State Electrical Inspector for over 10 years as well. Ron was a member of Dinkey Memorial Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ashfield, Pa. He was an active member of The Viet Nam Veterans of Carbon County and held a membership at The Lehighton American Legion Post 314. He volunteered his time as an Ashfield Teener League baseball coach and enjoyed building & flying radio controlled planes. He was a motorcycle enthusiast/rider and formerly spent time communicating on his CB radio. Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Kara Neff, 2 sons, Kyle Neff, Terry Neff & his wife Lisa of Lehighton, grandchildren, McKena, Alysha, Jonathan, Joshua, Danielle, great-grandchildren, Alia, Reilly, Evanly, Brynn, nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Michael Neff, a grandson Ryan Koder, a sister, Charlotte Thomas, & a brother, Charles Neff. A Memorial Celebration Of Life gathering in his honor will be held on Monday, Aug. 23rd a 6 p.m. at Dinkey Memorial Lutheran Church 1742 Dinkey Rd. Ashfield, Pa. with the Reverend Anthony P. Pagotto officiating followed by Full Military Honors at the church. Call 4:30-6 p.m. on Monday at the church. The interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
