Mrs. Kathleen A. Wentz, 68, of Franklin Township, passed away Saturday, November 11th at her residence. She was the wife of the late Lester W. Wentz Jr. who passed away, March 16, 2014. Born In Allentown, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Samuel P. Miller & Mildred C. (Heilman) Miller Hoppes and was the stepdaughter and was raised by her deceased step-father, Mark A. Hoppes. Kathy was employed by The United States Postal Service as a rural carrier. She and her late husband farmed in Franklin Township and were the former proprietors of Walck’s Restaurant, Parryville, Pa. She formerly attended services at Ben Salem United Church of Christ  where she volunteered as a girl scout leader. She was a supporter of the Carbon County Livestock Club and volunteered her time with the Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. In her spare time she could be found gardening, antiquing and spending time with her loving grandchildren. Surviving is a daughter, Kelly L. Hook, a son, Cory M. Wentz of Lehighton, a sister, Jean M. Guldner of Bowmanstown, a step-sister, Nancy L. , wife of Kenneth Oswald of Slatington, 2 sister in law's, Nancy Wentz & Louise Sander of Lehighton, 3 grandchildren, Cora Audrey, Gunnar, & Alyssa Wentz, a great-granddaughter, Addalynn Wentz, nieces & nephews. A Celebration Of Life Gathering in her honor will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday November 19th at The Bowmanstown Volunteer Fire Company, 259 Lime Street, Bowmanstown, Pa. Relatives & friends are invited to call  from 1-3 p.m.  The interment will be private. Memorial Contributions in her honor may be made to The Carbon County Livestock Club, 177 Jefferson Street, Lehighton, Pa. 18235 or The American Cancer Society,  101 W.
