Mrs. Judith A. Kunkle, 74, of Lehighton, passed away Wednesday, November 21st in St. Luke’s Hospital-Coaldale. She was the wife of the late Donald R. Kunkle who died on January 2nd of this year. Born on Tuesday, May 30, 1944 in Allentown, Pa. she was a daughter of the late William & Elmira (Rodney) Wert. She was a housewife/homemaker and previously worked for Murphy’s 5 & 10 cent store in Lehighton. Judy was a 1963 graduate of Lehighton Area High School. She served our country with the US Air Force during the Viet Nam War attaining the rank of AB (P). She attended services at Zion UCC, Lehighton and in her spare time she enjoyed embroidery, sewing, puzzle books, jigsaw puzzles and reading. Surviving is a daughter, Jennifer Kunkle of Lehighton, 2 sons, Donald E. Kunkle of Lehighton, Brian K. Kunkle of Jim Thorpe, 2 sisters, Helene, wife of Steve Tkach of Lehighton, Wendy, wife of Ronald Reehl of Lansford, 2 brothers, Randy Wert & His wife Darlene, Bill Wert & his wife Mary Ann of Lehighton, nieces, nephews, & cousins. A graveside Celebration of Life Service in her honor will be held on Wednesday, November 28th at 1:30 p.m. in Franklin Heights Memorial Park, East Weissport, Pa. with full military honors under the direction of the Lehighton Area UVO.
