Mrs.Janice A. (Yuskanish) Gieniec

Mrs. Janice A. Gieniec, 84, of Lehighton, passed into eternal rest on Thursday, November 8th at St. Luke’s Hospital-Lehighton. She was the wife of G. James Gieniec of Lehighton. They were married for 64 years on October 16th of this year. Born October 15, 1934 in Lansford, Pa., she was a daughter of Sarah Galgoci Yuskanish of Reading, Pa. & the late John Yuskanish. Janice was a graduate of St. Michael’s Parochial School, Lansford, Pa. and later graduated from Lansford High School. She was a graduate of Allentown Beauty School and later was a self employed Hairstylist with over 30 years of service. She was an active member of SS Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, Lehighton where she served as a Confraternity of Christian Doctrine instructor for many years. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her loving husband & family. Surviving in addition to her mother & husband is a son, James J. Gieniec & his wife Debra of Lehighton, a sister, Irene Huegel of Wilmington, Delaware, & a granddaughter, Jaime, wife of Nathan Cramer of Reading, Pa. A Celebration Of Life/Memorial Mass of Christian Burial in her honor will be held on Tuesday, November 13th at 10 a.m. at SS Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church 242 North 3rd St., Lehighton with the Reverend William N. Seifert officiating. Call 9-10 a.m. in the church. Interment in the parish cemetery following the mass.
