Mrs. Gloria M. (Mackes) Wilkinson

Mrs. Gloria M. Wilkinson, 84, of Bowmanstown, Pa. passed away Monday March 20th at The Gnaden Huetten Hospital, Lehighton, Pa. She was the wife of the late Harry C. Wilkinson for 47 years until his death, April 11, 2001. Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of the late Simon Mackes & Florence (Parsons, Mackes) Halada. She was a graduate of The Palmerton High School, Class of 1950. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a presser for Wilmer Fashions, Bowmanstown, Pa. She was of the Christian Faith and was a former member of The Bowmanstown Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Surviving is a daughter Patricia Wilkinson of Upper Nis Hollow,  2 sons, Brian & Brad Wilkinson of Bowmanstown, 3 grandchildren, Rachael, wife of Shaun Goodhile, Derek Wilkinson & his wife Brittney, Marc Eckhart & his wife Trina, 5 great grandchildren, Zachary Goodhile, Timothy, Shane, & Katie Eckhart, Emma Wilkinson, 2 sisters, Shirley Christman of Kunkletown, Sharon Haupt of Lititz, a brother, John Halada Jr. & his wife Bonnie of Indiana, nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by a son Bruce Wilkinson, 2 sisters, Evelyn Mackes, Alice Steigerwalt, & a brother, Ronald (Sponk) Mackes. Funeral Services & Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial Contributions in her honor may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
